The "Friends of the NRA Banquets" are well worth attending. You buy tickets, put them in a bucket and can win all sorts of guns and other gun related items. Plus they feed you.

But that's not the whole story. The funds raised at these banquets go to support local clubs with grants.

For example, our little town (about 3000 people) has a nice rifle range to 300 yards, trap houses, and an indoor range. Most of the funds to build these ranges come from grants from the NRA. Those grants are funded by the money raised at the Friends of the NRA Banquets.

We decided we wanted to do some action pistol shooting, such as falling plates, steel challenge, etc. Steel targets are expensive SOOOO, we applied for and got a $3000 grant to buy steel targets. Again these funds come from the F-NRA.

Great program, hard to find something that supports shooters more.
