Sounds like you've set it up fine so long as it works, but the proof is in the shooting. Even taking it out for some skeet will help you learn to shoot the thing (even if you will get odd looks, and you WILL get them, I do with my 870 Tac-2). Otherwise, all you have done is spent money on looks. You need to know and be able to employ it.
