Red Dot for 9mm / .40 S&W?

I recently bought some reloading equipment and supplies from an individual. Among the contents was an 8lb tub of Red Dot smokeless shotgun powder. I have been told that this powder can be used for handgun loads ( 9mm & .40 S&W in my case ). I want to make sure this is OK for obvious reasons. My Lyman reloading manual ( 47th ed. )does not have any data for Red Dot with the above mentioned calibers.

So can I put this powder to use with my pistol loads? If so, where can I find reliable data for using it? Thanks!
