my machinist was talking about milling the diameter of some nickel plated rivets to fit in a beveled primer pocket hole... trouble is the base of most cartridges is so thick, that if I left the bottom of the primer pocket intact, the cartridge base would stick out like 3/16" or so... if we could make the primer pocket hole beveled, but with no bottom, & fit a rivet to it, that mimicked a primer the cartridge base could be cut as thin as the rim allows, which would be much less likely to snag on things ???
