Scratch. Rest assured Remington 223's will "work" on squirrels. I hope you don't expect to have much meat left for gumbo... Now if you're "reaching out to more than 50 yards, you might want a more expensive boat tail, or specialized bullet made for varmet hunting. Good luck.
