I have a .22 Mag Marlin with a tubular magazine and you know they are kind of a pain - to load and unload.

The only positive thing is that in a target rich gopher enviroment, the high capacity tube makes it easy on the thumb!

A detachable mag is far easier to deal with. Especially when getting in and out of the truck in the gopher patch.

However a tubular mag does add a nice look to the rifle. IMHO
