I'll chuck out another suggestion: look at the Remington 51x model .22 bolt actions. Depending upon the specific model, they came in single shot or repeater bolt action. They are very accurate, and a joy to shoot.

They aren't made any longer, but they are not uncommon to find on Gunbroker; I have a pair of them, and they are my favorite .22 rifles.
