  1. Pearl High School in Pearl, Mississippi. The assistant principal got his gun from his car, and he confronted and stopped the shooter.

  2. Appalachian School of Law shooting. However, in that case the students who got their guns from their cars also happened to be LEOs.

  3. Aurora, CO church shooting, April, 2012. The fellow who stopped it was an off duty police officer.
Of course a primary reason why more rampage shootings aren't stopped by a potential victim with a gun is that rampage shooters seem to be pretty good about choosing places in which they won't find any potential victims with a gun.
