NEVER store primers loose! I was told what happens is that when disturbed, some of the priming mix will dust out from the primer and settle in the container. This stuff is VERY sensitive in that state.
There was a story of an employee in an ammo plant shaking a bucket with loose primers while walking along. He sort of just disappeared, the story goes. Probably just a story but . . . .
Also read that priming compound is more powerful than the same amount of dynamite! Store them ONLY in the original little trays. The makers go thru a lot of expense to make them. They would love to just sell them loose in boxes, if they could, I'll bet!
