Yep, its election year. Last year the OK House Public Safety Committee voted down open carry. All five committee Democrats joined with four Republicans in shooting the bill down. This year they were caught between an upcoming election and a hard place.

There are 16 members of the committee this year, looks like someone did not vote.

The OK Senate Public Safety Committee approved its bill 8-1. The senate bill is weak, one must have a concealed carry permit in order to open carry: What a joke.
