Yes it can be used in the barrel. Just either remember or tag the gun as a reminder that the barrel has Rig in it. I had a Remington 760 Game-Master in a gun case coated with Rig and after a 10 year stretch in the back of the closet when removed from the case not a speck of rust ANYWHERE.
