Because the human eye is incapable of seeing metal fatigue, until it's to late.
Can you guess which way I lean on this subject
I own a low serial number 1903 and it is retired for safety purposes. Since I shoot at a public range I don't think it wise to use a gun that has documented safety issues. Just my opinion.
