With shot capsules, I run about 5 gr Unique in .44 Spcl/Mag.
With over-powder wads and over-shot cards, I run 6 gr Unique or Titegroup and as much shot as possible in .44 Mag. They work, but aren't impressive.

With my custom shotshells made from .303 British and .30-40 Krag cases, I run 5.5 gr Unique or Titegroup under 1/2 oz of shot. (220 grains of anything from #4 to #9.)
They're good enough to kill a pine chicken at 15 feet (blue and ruffed grouse).
