My first suggestion - take the rifle and find out where your eye has to be to get a sight pictures. Turn it sideways if you must. That should tell you if you have the wrong eye relief, are mounted somehow sideways or what else needs to be changes. Picture of your mounting system would be nice too, that 55/16 isn't quite clear to me.
Taking a look at the scope, that K10 has a very long middle tube, giving you lots of room for error in mounting. The scope needs to be between 3 - 4 inches from your eye when aiming, otherwise you can't see a thing.

I used to love being able to hit hard at 1000 yards. As I get older I find hitting a mini ram at 200 yards with the 22 oddly more satisfying.
