You don't need more than 6-8X at that range to shoot 2-3" groups. Not many guns will do better than that JMR40 ??

No offense meant here, But 2 to 3 inch groups at 300 yards is not good enough for me. If this ( as he says) is for target shooting. For hunting that's good enough. As well this is not a plug for Savage either,but all my Savages,223,243,22-250,308,6MMBR will all shoot better than 2 inches at 300 yards with ease. My 6MMBR will do 3 to 4 inch at 600 yards with ease.

Eldermike-- I shoot F-Class. The only power is see more than any other is a straight 36 power, and now the 42 power is coming on strong as well.
