I have never shot a 686, but I do have a 586-4, along with a model 19-3. While I like them both, shooting 357 mags is more enjoyable for me out of the 586.. I also have two model 28's, and I still prefer the 586, when it comes down to shooting 357 mags. I guess it's that full-lug barrel...

As far as accuracy, any of them are more accurate than I can be!
