Different terms mean different things to different people.

I don't consider a 9mm "powerful". I consider it the "minimum acceptable", and at that, I almost never carry anything smaller than a .45acp.
If I were to make a recommendation for "small yet powerful"
by my definition, I would say Kahr PM45. I owned one for a while and really liked it, but I can comfortably carry and conceal a larger .45acp with a larger capacity that I shoot better. I don't have room in my safe or my budget for guns that I do not carry/shoot regularly, so it is now owned by a friend who (wait for it) carries and shoots it regularly. Gotta love a happy ending.
