I don't have any of them, and don't expect to get into them, but I've always admired the under lever single shots and the split breech single shot .22s.

These were rifles like the old Stevens "Crack Shot" and the Remington Rolling Block as examples.

Many years ago I was a youngster at the Wright family reunion. Seeing I was bored, a distant cousin called me aside and produced a Remington Rolling Block and an ancient box of .22 Shorts and told me to "go down to the pond and shoot some turtles."

Still have my first rifle, a 1950 vintage Marlin 39A.
