Well Mal, if you want those pop-ups to stop, I found the secret. First you load up a ton of stuff and have it all running silently in the background. Then you forgo system maintenance for about two months, or until your system resources are down to about 30%, and they will stop. Of course, shortly thereafter, everything else will too . Turns out this computer at work had a ton of junk software in the quick start toolbar, along with another ton of spyware, "allegedly" from another captain downloading...um, "pictures". Took me over 2 hrs. to delete almost 3 gig of "interesting material", dump the spyware, and run a virus scan. So that's how you do it, but I think you'll find it more fun to just cuss them pop-ups .
