I don't even go out walking in (small) Bear Country without my .357 loaded with FMJ... if I had the foresight to bring a long gun it would probably be my Mossberg 12 gauge in field configuration (28" vented barrel and IC choke) and a variety of shells from #8 to #00... no slugs unless I remembered to bring a cyl. bore choke!
