The 30 and similar sized guns are the best compromise between bulk for carry and accuracy. Anything bigger won't fit most ccw setups and smaller guns are hard to shoot accurately in bigger calibers.
The 21 and it's kin weren't meant for ccw, unless you're wearing it under winter clothing.
