Smith-Wesson 622 Mods

Hello all

New to the forums, and looking for some advice. I just picked up a S&W 622 with a 6" ribbed barrel, black polymer grips, less than 100 rounds through it, box, instructions, and even the Smith wax paper. Serial UBE7xxx.

I know the 422, 622, 2206 line and similarities.

I saw one listing that read the 6" ribbed barrel was only produced in '96 before the 22A was introduced. Is this true? Does the gun have more value? (no, I'm not selling it)

I would really like to add some thicker checked wood grips. Ive seen some sites that say the Model 41 grips fit, but just looking at the picture, the screws won't match. I'd rather not have to modify screw holes. Any brands/companies/sites recommended? I've seen the set on ebay but they don't look thicker. Are they?

I've almost put 100 rounds through it and like the trigger.

For plinking/fun target, would you modify anything else.

Thanks in advance
