You know, I find the greatest ideas and topics here. A homemade gas check sounds like a great idea! What I am thinking is the aluminum can idea and using a gromet punch, If I could only find one with the right diameter... Just imagine, missing your deer (or other target) with the bullet but taking it down with a flaming aluminum disc as a backup! JK, but I am interested as well but don't think I need it.
