I have a cousin who has been using his AR 15 for deer hunting since about 1985. I prefer my M1 Garand with my home cooked hunting loads when I take my military guns out into the field. Or my Mosin Nagant rifle or carbine or K31 or............well lets just say I'm not fussy about what I take and I am into this nostalgia thing.
