Not sure where you heard this, but DON"T DO IT! There is no provision for "fine adjustments" using the chain on a Pro 1000. Set the chain to pull all the way to the rear/bottom on every return of the handle. The only adjustments are with a different disk or an adjustable measurer. Lee sells an adjustable one is the only way to make "fine adjustments".
