The conversion to 4" barrel is not as straightforward as simply unscrewing one barrel and screwing in another. The extractor rods are different lengths so you will have to have a new extractor rod, you must set the barrel to cylinder gap, the barrel must index correctly, etc. You would be way ahead to trade your 2 1/2 inch gun in on a 4 inch model.
