Art the problem is when you have to actually fire the thing.
My fear is that I would be temporarily, blinded by the flash and the hot gasses and particles that would fly up in my face from the ports if I had to fire the gun from the retention or close retention positions.
Since most civilian gun fights take place from about 5-10feet this is a real problem.
The gun might be just fine without the ports.
Carry wise I found the gun to be just as heavy as a full size 1911, but I had the SS champion frame on my v-10.
The v-10 balances poorly in an IWB holster (grip heavy)
my full size 1911's balance better in the holster and in my hand.
