I am luck to be a natural point shooter. I generally shoot a pistol with the bore about 3-4 inches below eye level. I would rather see my target than see my sights. I already know what my sights look like. I shoot a shotgun with my head up off the stock. When quail hunting, it makes tracking the little missiles so much easier. I have never been able to shoot a scoped rifle with both eyes open no matter how much I tried. It was just too distracting. I rarely shoot with iron sights, but when I do, at the moment of truth I close one eye. The goal with a rifle is pin point accuracy.
