I fired a 460 Weatherby with the Accubrake in place, and it does indeed reduce recoil substantially, taking the nearly 100 ft-lbs of recoil down to more manageable levels. I can't vouch for a 53% reduction, but it makes the rifle much more shootable. It's still a 14-lbs rifle kicking like a mule on steroids, but at least it reduces recoil some. In exchange for reduced recoil, it is nearly deafening.

As a comparison, I am sure you have read about how a 30-06 in an 8-lbs rifle generates about 20 ft-lbs of recoil, so you are still talking about more than twice the free recoil of a 30-06.
