Correct; the lengthened version of the .32 S&W "Short" cartridge was the
.32 S&W Long, which was rechristened
.32 Colt New Police so Colt wouldn't have to put their rival's name on their guns.
None of these cartridges should chamber in a .32 Long Colt gun.
