You can look around before you transition children to the car.

Looking through the car windows, use rearview mirrors, reflections from other car windows,and side mirrors can help with maintaining your vision when buckling kiddos. One suggestion you can do is put the child in the seat, look around, buckle one strap, look around, buckle last strap, and look around.

Much depends on car type, how many children, ages of children, etc..
