I use a beam scale to check mine, and every charge has agree exactly with the digital readout of the RCBS unit.
I read so many stories about leaving the powder drain open after emptying that I think it was seared into my brain. So my standard practice after brushing out the last few granules of powder is to rotate the drain to the closed position.
