I'm with Mike on the versatility of 231. It's taking the place of many other powders in .38, 9mm, .357, 44S, 44M, and 45ACP. All with cast bullets.
I still prefer 2400 for the top end performance in the 357 and 44 Mag, but I rarely shoot these, as my hands won't stand the abuse much.
If this says anything, there are 14-14 1# containers of pistol powder on my shelf, but 2 8# jugs of 231. I don't need that much 231, but found a really good deal!
