I tried the same test, trying to see if the 240gr Hornady swaged hollow point would expand at 750-800fps and gave up when it exited on seven water-filled milk jugs.

WOW that’s surprising. You should try one of these. Out of a Ruger Blackhawk this penetrated a deer at 20 yards and stopped on the hide on the back side. They were loaded to about 1000 (no crono). I only had a sample number last fall but have more on order. Looking for some for the 44 which he will have soon.
