It depends on two things - how serious is the range work and how much can you afford.

For informal "target shooting", any of the above guns will do very well and probably shoot better than you can hold. But when the shooting gets serious and the competition gets tough, and you become good enough that the lower level guns won't hack it, then an S&W Model 41 is close to the minimum, not the top. The Ruger target models (I like the 5" heavy barrel) will do for accuracy, but have to have the triggers replaced with something better.

At the top level only Walther or Hammerli (some guns made by Walther) will bring home the hardware.
