The muzzle attachment is simply another type of compensator, something that works to reduce muzzle flip by forcing the propellant gas up, which keeps the muzzle down (the same thing that the ports in the barrel are supposed to do). The thing hanging off the lower barrel appears to be a mercury weight, which is ALSO supposed to reduce recoil, and to ensure smoothness when you're swinging through a target. All in all, more gimmicky than anything else, and if someone is fighting recoil to the extent that they think they need all of these things, they should probably stop shooting skeet with the 3" Magnum loads.
