Yeah those prices are just ludicrous. I'm not sure who told you those, but they were way off.
9mm seems to bring around $30 per 1000 or $3 per 100. .40S&W seems to bring around $40 per 1000 or $4 per 100. I haven't seen either bring much more, but I have seen them for sale for less.
Right now I've seen some .45 with large primer pockets going for $80-90 for 1000, but that's with the panic, it normally doesn't bring that. $50-60 is normally what I see it listed for sale for.
