You know, after seeing how often people got hit in the hands during Force-onForce, I'm not all that sure it would be a rare event if you did have the misfortune to be in a gunfight.
Not only that; but it pops up occasionally in reporting of real life gunfights as well. The now famous Blitz308 thread comes to mind as an example.
