I have owned a new model 10/22 and a new Marlin 60.

The 10/22 feels like a piece of junk beside the Marlin 60. The marlin 60 is also known for being more accurate. Both have about the same reliability. Sold the Ruger, still own the 60.

About the only thing the 10/22 wins on is aftermarket accessories.


The ruger has more votes simply because more people own Rugers then Marlins, and there is a thing called "brand loyalty"

..but if you'll notice, just about everybody that has owned both a marlin and a ruger will vote for the Marlin.
