Our team competed for the first time last year at the nationals in Ft. Lauderdale and came in 5th in the industry class (don't ask how many teams there were
) but hey, we got trophies and we came in 1st or 2nd in the handgun phase.
Anyway, the point is it is a great event and a great test of all-around firearms skill.
If there is some interest, maybe we could have a real showing next April for The Firing Line down there. If teams needed .22 rifles or whatever, I could supply some great guns. You'll need the following equipment:
Precision .22 pistols (99.9% using red dot sights)
Precision .22 Rifles (99.9% using HIGH power scopes (we used an 8-32 and two 6-24s)
2 centerfire guns, one for precision, one for tactically accurate but fast shooting.
Shotguns for sporting clays/5 stand type targets.
3 man teams compete for $150,000 in prizes. I can get info to anyone interested (diagrams of the fields of fire, specific rules, etc...)
there is a good article in this month's Guns & Ammo about last years national event.
