I have a console vault. I had a friend who welded a lockbox to the frame of his CJ7, because old Jeeps don't have internal lockbox capability. There are ways to make it very hard for somebody to steal things from your vehicle, much harder than it is to force a thin sheet metal door or cut a combo lock in a locker room.
