I have a SW9VE, which is out of those Sigma series (I understand the newer SD9 and SD40 are yet improved).

The trigger pull is indeed horrendous. The Apex kit helps, but not a ton. However, if you can build your skill with the gun it IS fairly accurate and very reliable. The ergonomics are surprisingly good- it feels better than any Glock I've ever held. I bought mine secondhand; I've put a couple hundred rounds or so through it without a single failure. Before I went screwing with the sights* the bullets went where the thing was aimed.

IMO, the gun is what it is- an inexpensive but reliable firearm for self defense. No more and no less. Another $150-200 will buy a much better gun, but that isn't always possible. If one can afford something like a Sig SP2022, Glock, S&W M&P, or Springfield Armory XD then I'd recommend spending the extra for one of those. But if one absolutely cannot, the Sigma will be sufficient.

*One caveat- DO NOT buy the Meprolight night sights for it. I tried that for mine, couldn't ever get them to shoot to point of aim, and the slide needs to go back to S&W to have a new front sight installed (they weld it on). It's just a waste of money.
