I just purchased a Mini 14 and am pretty stoked, but I have a question. The guy at the store said all 3 on display were Ranch rifles, but two of them had the 16" barrels as opposed to 18.5". I decided on the stainless 16". Now on my rifle it's stamped "Ranch" but the model number is 5819 which according to the Ruger website is Tactical.
Is this like a case of "All whiskey is bourbon but not all bourbon is whiskey"
...i.e. "All Tacticals are Ranch rifles but not all Ranch rifles are Tacticals"? Doesn't really matter in the end but I'm just trying to get it all straight!
