If your looking for rifle ranges it will fall short of what you want. I would say 40 to 50 yrds. max in the sun and a farther in the woods by a good bit. If it`s for a rifle I have had good luck with the NC Stars`s. I have an AR upper with a red lazer on it for nite hunting coyotes. If you are going to use it in conjunction with nite vision the green lazer is far to bright and you can see the red lazer much farther than your gun will shoot.
