Yep... 1911's are great, but with all the nice poly guns out there now, many of which weigh only half as much, a 1911 for EDC is passe for me.

I'm just an ordinary guy in an ordinary city going ordinary places... not a LEO... Why should I lug around 2 1/2 lbs. of gun?
