Here in Norway you aply for a gun and you give a reson why you need that gun. In theory you are not allowed to use the gun for anything other than the use you have stated on your application. So, when you state collecting as a reson for getting the gun, well that is what you are goingt to do with it.
The gun laws here are not enforced the way the laws say that they can be enforced. For example, the police can inspect your gun storage when you have bean notified 48 houers earlier. I have never heard this happen to anybody, at all.
Another example, you can get get a AR-15 for competition shooting but not for hunting. But you are allowed to use it for hunting in other coutryes that alowe it. Even when it is not the reson you put on your application form.
