What are these scope dials for?

I have just received my Burris XTR scope and very nice it is too!!

I have not zero'ed it yet, other than the basic "look at a point through your bore and find it with the reticle"

However, I have been familiarising myself with it's features.

One such feature is that it has replacement dials for elevation and windage. The ones on the scope are a dial with 0-12 on it and little graduations in between.

However, in little sachets, there are other dials that have 0-8 on one 180 degree surface, and then another 0-8 on the other half of the dial, both running in the same direction.

What are thay for and do I need to change? Is these some milliradian vs MOA dial?

Thanks.
