To my mind the best values in U.S. made revolvers in 22 calibre on the market today are the pre WWII products of Colt and S&W. The Colt Officers Model Target, the S&W Outdoorsman, and K22 Masterpiece (prewar) show workmanship that has not, as a rule, been seen since. And generally they shoot at least as well as any revolver made in the U.S. since thiat time.

But I have a hard time not purchasing nice examples of revolvers made prior to about 1960 when I see them- the Colt Officers Model Match, the S&W (postwar) K22 Masterpiece and the Combat masterpiece are all fine revolvers.
