Silicon Wolverine, I have many Buck knives and have sent in knives that I expected to have to pay to have fixed. One very near and dear, was old and never expected it able to be repaired, but was willing to pay Buck to try...they fixed it and sent it back to me, no charge.
I do hope that you give Joe Houser the chance to get this resolved. He moderates Buck Forum on BladeForum.com, goes out of his way to correct or get to the bottom of issues like this.
