Wow... didn't realize euchre was mainly a "great white north" game. 
Interesting you worked at the Ford plant. When I got out of high school, I went to work at the Oldsmobile plant in Lansing. Indeed, there was a euchre game there (3 shifts) that never stopped until the weekend.
